Our Mission
Careful Counting was founded with a mission rooted in community and empowerment. As a Somali immigrant, our founder saw firsthand the incredible entrepreneurial spirit within the Somali community in Minnesota—business owners who were driven, resourceful, and resilient. But despite their passion and hard work, many businesses struggled due to a lack of financial education and support. Careful Counting was created to change that, not only for the Somali community but for all individuals and businesses in need.

Our Founder
Careful Counting was founded by Zamzam Ali, a dedicated accounting professional with a passion for helping people understand finances. With 5 years of experience in accounting/tax compliance/payroll, Zamzam has worked with different types of clients in many different industries. Her journey began as an Iowa State student studying finance. After graduating she began working on her corporate journey where she decided to juggle both a 9-5 and a side hustle in filing taxes. As she began her first tax season, she later realized the need for accounting and bookkeeping services. She now leads Careful Counting with a commitment to accuracy, transparency, and genuine care.
